Poughkeepsie, NY (Sports Network) - Kenny Hasbrouck scored a game-high 35 points, leading four players in double figures, as the Siena Saints took care of the Marist Red Foxes, 97-88, in overtime during a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference outing at the McCann Center.
Hasbrouck made 5-of-7 shots behind the three-point line and 14-of-21 from the field overall for the Saints (15-8, 10-3 MAAC) as they won their second straight and the third in the last four outings. Edwin Ubiles added 21 points, Ronald Moore 12 points, five assists and four steals, followed by Alex Franklin with 10 points and five boards before fouling out.
Marist (14-10, 8-5), which has dropped three in a row, was paced by Jay Gavin who tallied 19 points off the bench. Spongy Benjamin chipped in 17 points and eight boards, Ryan Stilphen 16 points and eight rebounds and Dejuan Goodwin 14 points in the losing cause.
Siena scored the first points of the contest and eventually moved out to a 25-10 advantage midway through the first half, but then found itself ahead by just four points at the break, 41-37.
In the second half the Red Foxes shot an incredible 72.7 percent from the field, including 5-of-7 beyond the arc, but Hasbrouck's layup in the waning moments of regulation tied the game at 79-79 and sent it into overtime.
During the bonus session the Saints made all six of their free-throw attempts and 5-of-7 shots from the floor to seal up the nine-point decision.
Marist finished the night knocking down 54.4 percent from the floor, but the team's 18 turnovers were converted into 26 points by the Saints.
