Moraga, CA (Sports Network) - Yusef Smith led a balanced scoring attack with a career-best 15 points, as 25th-ranked St. Mary's crushed San Francisco, 76-51, at McKeon Pavilion.

Omar Samhan had 12 points and nine rebounds and Tron Smith also picked up 12 points for the Gaels (20-3, 7-1 WCC), who have won three games in a row. Diamon Simpson and Patrick Mills added 10 points each.

Dior Lowhorn picked up game-highs with 22 points and 11 rebounds for the Dons (6-17, 2-6), losers in five of their last six. Danny Cavic added 10 points in defeat.

After playing close in the opening minutes, the Gaels went on a 17-8 run to take a 28-16 lead with 8:13 left in the first half after Smith completed a three-point play.

St. Mary's lead stretched to as high as 17 points, 39-22, with 3:03 remaining on a Mills jumper, but the Dons ended the half on a bit of an up note, cutting their deficit to 44-29 at the break.

The home team reeled off the first seven points of the second half, and when Ian O'Leary drained a three from the right corner 2:55 in, the Gaels owned a 54-29 advantage.

The Dons made another brief surge to get within 17 points on a Manny Quezada deuce with 10:20 to play, but St. Mary's reasserted itself, regained a 20- point edge on Smith's layup 19 seconds later, and cruised to the win.
