Ithaca, NY (Sports Network) - Ryan Wittman scored a game-high 20 points and pulled down eight rebounds as the Cornell Big Red defeated the Princeton Tigers, 72-61, in Ivy League action at Newman Arena.
Also scoring in double figures for Cornell (13-5, 5-0 Ivy), as it won for the seventh straight time and remained undefeated in league play, were Jeff Foote and Adam Gore with 18 and 10 points, respectively.
The Tigers (5-13, 2-1), who had their three-game win streak snapped, were paced by Kyle Koncz who tallied 19 points on 5-of-7 shooting behind the three-point line before fouling out. Kevin Steuerer chipped in 17 points and Zach Finley 10 in the setback.
Cornell shot a blistering 65.2 percent from the field in the first half, en route to a 37-29 advantage at the break.
In the second half the Big Red secured the 11-point win with 12-of-15 shooting at the free-throw line.
Cornell finished the night hitting an impressive 54.3 percent from the floor and 7-of-15 behind the three-point line, all while limiting Princeton to just four offensive rebounds and 20 boards overall.
