Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Gerald Brown poured in 33 points to pace the Loyola-Maryland Greyhounds to a lopsided 81-69 victory over the Saint Peter's Peacocks in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action from Reitz Arena,
Brown drilled 9-of-15 from the floor, including 4-of-7 from the three-point arc, as Loyola-Maryland (14-11, 9-4 MAAC) won for the seventh time in eight games. Michael Tuck contributed 11 points and eight rebounds, while Brett Harvey tallied 13 points and seven assists. Brian Rudolph didn't make a field goal, but recorded eight rebounds and seven assists. while Marquis Sullivan came off the bench to chip in 10 points for the victors.
Saint Peter's (5-18, 2-11), which has only recorded one victory in its past 10 games, was led by Nick Leon's 15 points. Darrell Lampley finished with 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor.
The Greyhounds held Saint Peter's to just five first-half field goals, but the Peacocks' 16-for-19 effort from the foul line left them behind just 36-28 at the break.
Loyola stepped up in the second frame, drilling 16-of-24 from the field and walking away with the 12-point triumph.
Saint Peter's had a difficult time finding easy baskets, as the squad only dished out three assists and shot a woeful 32.2 percent from the floor.
