Harrisonburg, VA (Sports Network) - Terrance Carter tallied 17 points and seven rebounds, as the James Madison Dukes notched a 73-68 win over the Towson Tigers in a Colonial Athletic Association matchup at the Convocation Center.
Abdulai Jalloh and Kyle Swanston scored 16 points apiece for JMU (11-11, 4-8 CAA).
Towson (9-13, 5-7) was paced by Junior Hairston, who tallied 14 points and eight rebounds in a losing effort. Josh Thornton added 13 points, and C.C. Williams finished with 12.
Towson knocked down 7-of-14 three-pointers and shot 58.6 percent from the floor in the first half, as the Tigers jumped out to a commanding 41-25 halftime lead.
But JMU went on a 36-7 second-half run, turning a 19-point deficit into a 10- point lead. Towson shot just 7-of-22 from the floor in the final 20 minutes.
Both teams shot an identical 47.1 percent for the game. But it was three-point shooting in the second half that set the teams apart, as the Tigers went just 1-of-7 on their attempts, while JMU went 5-of-9.
