NCAA Game Summary - Old Dominion at Northeastern
Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Matt Janning tallied a game-high 20 points and collected seven rebounds, leading the Northeastern Huskies to a 67-60 victory over the Old Dominion Monarchs in a Colonial Athletic Association tilt at Matthews Arena.
Manny Adako also had a solid game for Northeastern (10-12, 6-6 CAA), shooting 5-for-5 from the field and finishing with 16 points and eight boards. Chaisson Allen chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds.
Abdi Lidonde paced ODU (11-13, 6-6) with 16 points, while Ben Finney finished with 12.
Both teams eclipsed 50-percent shooting in the first half, as Northeastern grabbed a slim 36-35 halftime advantage.
But it was a much different second half, as the teams combined to shoot a woeful 14-of-55 from the field. However, the Huskies' 20-3 scoring edge from the foul line proved to be the difference.
ODU had a 17-4 edge in points off turnovers for the game. However, the Monarchs shot just 5-of-12 from the charity stripe, while the Huskies shot 24-of-27.
