Hattiesburg, MS (Sports Network) - Craig Craft poured in a game-high 27 points to lead the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles to a 93-85 double-overtime victory over the UAB Blazers in Conference-USA play at the Reed Green Coliseum.
Jeremy Wise added 19 points and dished out six assists for Southern Mississippi (11-10, 3-4 C-USA), while Andre Stephens tallied 14 points to go along with nine rebounds. Courtney Beasley and Sai'Quon Stone both contributed 11 points apiece in the win.
Robert Vaden scored 26 points for UAB (15-6, 5-1), while Channing Toney and Lawrence Kinnard chipped in 17 and 16 points, respectively.
Southern Mississippi shot 43.3 percent from the floor in the first half and went into the break with a commanding 37-25 advantage.
However, the Blazers stormed back in the second stanza, netting a staggering 61.5 percent of their attempts from the floor, forcing the contest into overtime.
In the extra session, UAB's Aaron Johnson made one of two free throw chances in the final minute, tying the score at 78-78, sending the contest into a second overtime.
Southern Mississippi dominated the second overtime, and outscored UAB by a 15-7 margin en route to the eight-point win.
The Golden Eagles made 33-of-45 attempts from the foul line in the contest, while UAB connected on just 21-of-27 shots from the charity stripe.
