Charleston, SC (Sports Network) - Tony White Jr. scored a team-best 17 points as the College of Charleston defeated The Citadel, 63-48, in Southern Conference play at John Kresse Arena.
Also scoring in double figures for the Cougars (10-12, 5-7 SoCon), as they snapped a four-game slide, was Andrew Goudelock with 12 points, while Jermaine Johnson and Jeremy Simmons controlled the glass with 10 rebounds apiece.
The Bulldogs (5-16, 0-12), losers of 10 straight, were paced by Cameron Wells with 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists, while Austin Dahn contributed 11 points on just 4-of-12 shooting from the floor.
The first half saw The Citadel shoot just 25 percent from the field and 4-of-15 beyond the arc, all while failing to make it to the free-throw line a single time, resulting in a 30-18 deficit at the break.
In the second half Charleston pushed out a bit further with 54.2 percent shooting from the floor, en route to the 15-point home win.
In addition to losing the battle of the boards, 38-29, the Bulldogs shot just 4-of-7 at the free-throw line and 8-of-25 beyond the arc.
