Fresno, CA (Sports Network) - Kevin Bell scored 18 points and handed out six assists as the Fresno State Bulldogs defeated the Bulldogs from Louisiana Tech, 70-58, in Western Athletic Conference action at the Save Mart Center.

Also scoring in double figures for the hometown Bulldogs (11-12, 4-5 WAC) was Eddie Miller who dropped in 17 points on 5-of-10 shooting behind the three- point line as the squad snapped a two-game slide.

LaTech (3-17, 0-8), still the only WAC team without a league victory, was paced by Kyle Gibson with 22 points, while Orren Tims tacked on 13 points and eight rebounds off the bench in the team's eighth consecutive setback.

In addition to failing to get to the free-throw line in the first half, Louisiana Tech converted a total of just eight field goals, resulting in a 38-17 deficit at the break.

In the second half it was FSU that stalled a bit with only 9-of-23 from the floor, but thanks to an 11-of-15 effort at the charity stripe, the home team still came away with the 12-point triumph.

Fresno State raced out to an 11-0 start to the contest and never looked back, leading by as many as 27 points in the second half as the squad outscored the visitors at the free-throw line overall, 20-10, and held Tech to a mere 4-of-12 shooting behind the three-point line.
