Niagara, NY (Sports Network) - Jonathan Han posted 16 points and nine assists to pace the Fairfield Stags in their 76-72 triumph over the Niagara Purple Eagles in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference clash.
Herbie Allen pitched in 15 points for Fairfield (8-14, 6-6 MAAC), which got 10 points from Anthony Johnson, Yorel Hawkins and Greg Nero.
Stanley Hodge poured in a career-high 21 points in the loss for Niagara (13-7, 7-4). Charron Fisher scored 18 points for the Purple Eagles, who got 14 points from Benson Egemonye and 11 points from Tyrone Lewis.
Fairfield nailed its first 18 free throws in the contest, including an 11- of-11 effort in the first half, en route to a 45-36 lead at intermission.
Niagara, which scored the first seven points of the second half, held a 60-59 edge midway through the stanza. Fortunately for Fairfield, clutch shooting from the charity stripe and the three-point arc was the difference down the stretch.
The Stags finished the game 20-of-23 from the foul line.
Fairfield was able to avenge a 12-point loss to Niagara last Sunday.
