Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Bambale Osby scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Maryland Terrapins to an 88-86 win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in an ACC clash at the Alexander Memorial Coliseum.
Maryland (14-8, 4-3 ACC) also received 16 points from Landon Milbourne, while James Gist and Eric Hayes chipped in with 14 points apiece. Greivis Vasquez ran the show tallying 13 points and nine assists in the win.
Georgia Tech (10-10, 3-4) was paced by Zack Peacock who scored 18 points off the bench. Matt Causey also added 12 off the pine, while D'Andre Bell and Anthony Morrow checked in with 11 and 10 points respectively.
The Terrapins got out to a fast start, shooting 18-of-28 from the floor in the first half, to take a 50-41 lead at the break.
Maryland continued to shoot well in the second stanza, converting 48.5 percent of its shots from the field, to help stave off a Georgia Tech run and secure the two-point victory.
Maryland, which has now won four of its last five games, controlled the post outscoring the Yellow Jackets 48-40 in the paint.
