NCAA Game Summary - Kent State at Toledo
Toledo, OH (Sports Network) - Tyrone Kent scored 19 points to lead the Toledo Rockets to a 59-56 win over the Kent State Golden Flashes in a Mid-American Conference showdown at Savage Hall.
Jerrah Young also got involved for the Rockets (7-13, 4-4 MAC), tallying 10 points in the win.
KSU (17-5, 6-2) was led by Al Fisher who scored 18 points and Chris Singletary who added 13 points in the loss.
Toledo came out firing in the first half, shooting 60 percent from the floor, to take a 29-28 lead at the break.
The Rockets cooled off in the second stanza, shooting just 9-of-24 from the field, but still managed to hold on for a three-point victory.
Toledo was stifling on defense, turning 22 KSU turnovers into 24 points.
