KSU (17-5, 6-2) was led by Al Fisher who scored 18 points and Chris Singletary who added 13 points in the loss.
Toledo came out firing in the first half, shooting 60 percent from the floor, to take a 29-28 lead at the break.
The Rockets cooled off in the second stanza, shooting just 9-of-24 from the field, but still managed to hold on for a three-point victory.
