Hartford, CT (Sports Network) - A. J. Price scored 20 points to lead the Connecticut Huskies to a thrilling, 69-67 victory over the Louisville Cardinals in Big East action at the XL Center.
Stanley Robinson added a double-double for UConn (15-5, 5-3 BigEast), while Jeff Adrien also posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Juan Palacios netted 16 points for Louisville (15-6, 5-3), while David Padgett chipped in 12 points in the loss.
Neither team shot particularly well in the first half, as the Huskies posted a 36.7 percent shooting effort, while Louisville made a pathetic 29.4 percent of its attempts from the floor. The lack of offense led to a 30-30 tie at intermission.
In the second stanza, the Huskies made 52.0 percent of their shots and were able to hold on to a slim two-point victory.
The Huskies dominated the play in the paint, winning the battle on the glass, 40-29. UConn also outscoring Louisville down low by a 30-16 margin.
