Kent, OH (Sports Network) - Al Fisher posted 17 points and seven rebounds to pace the Kent State Golden Flashes in a 67-58 victory over the Western Michigan Broncos in Mid-American Conference tilt at the M.A.C. Center.
Fisher made 5-of-13 field goals and all six of his free-throw attempts, as Kent State (16-4, 5-1 MAC) improved to 12-0 at home. Mike Scott netted 13 points and ripped down six boards, while Rodriquez Sherman contributed 12 points and five rebounds in the victory.
David Kool poured in game-best 21 points on 5-of-8 three-pointers for Western Michigan (10-9, 4-2), who had its three-game win streak stopped. Shawntes Gary turned in 14 points and eight boards, and Joe Reitz had 13 points and seven rebounds in the losing effort.
The Broncos took a 34-31 lead at the half courtesy of a 48.0 percent shooting effort from the field over the first 20 minutes of play.
The Flashes clamped down in the second half, holding Western Michigan to a dismal 25.9 percent shooting performance from the floor, as they came from behind for the nine-point victory.
Kent State made the most of its opportunities at the foul line, making good on 23-of-29 attempts.
