Coral Gables, FL (Sports Network) - Dwayne Collins registered a double-double with game highs of 18 points and 12 rebounds, as the Miami Hurricanes rallied for a 75-72 victory over the Clemson Tigers in an ACC battle at BankUnited Center.
Jack McClinton made 4-of-11 three-pointers and he finished with 16 points for the Hurricanes (15-4, 2-3), who snapped a three-game losing skid. Lance Hurdle posted 14 points and three steals, while Brian Asbury logged 11 points and six boards in the victory.
Demontez Stitt headed the charge for Clemson (15-5, 3-3) with 15 points and a pair of steals. James Mays contributed 14 points and five boards, as the Tigers fell for the second time in three games.
Clemson used an 18-4 run to overcome a 12-point deficit in the first half, but Asbury converted on pair of free throws with 14 seconds remaining, giving the Hurricanes a 37-35 edge at the break.
McClinton drained three straight three-point field goals over a 1:21 span late in the second half, as Miami overcame the Tigers for the three-point victory.
The Hurricanes were effective at the foul line, converting on 25-of-29 attempts in the game.
