Dejuan Goodwin tallied 13 points for Marist (13-7, 7-2 MAAC), while Ryan Stilphen recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Ben Farmer grabbed 10 boards and blocked two shots in the win.
For Iona (7-14, 3-6), only Milan Prodanovic reached double figures with 10 points.
Despite shooting just 25.7 percent from the floor in the first half, the Gaels managed to take a slim 21-20 lead into the locker room at halftime.
But they could not hold down Marist in the second stanza, as the Red Foxes knocked down seven three-pointers to pull away for the nine-point victory.
Marist committed 21 turnovers in the game, but that translated into only a 16-14 edge for the Gaels in points off turnovers.
