Lawrenceville, NJ (Sports Network) - The Rider Broncs continued their winning ways with a 93-80 defeat of the Manhattan Jaspers in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at Alumni Gym, as Lamar Johnson led the way with 23 points off the bench.
Johnson hit an astounding 7-of-8 from behind the arc, as Rider (14-6, 7-2 MAAC) won its sixth straight contest. Jason Thompson posted 20 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, while brother Ryan Thompson tallied 15 points.
Chris Smith paced the Jaspers (8-11, 2-7) with 22 points, but it was not enough to halt Manhattan's three-game losing streak. Laurence Jolicoeur contributed 18 points, and Nick Walsh netted 11 off the bench. Jamel Ferguson led the way on the glass with nine rebounds.
Rider jumped to a 47-34 lead at halftime behind a scorching 9-for-12 performance behind the arc.
The Broncs were just as hot in the second frame, connecting on 68 percent from the field and holding off the Jaspers for the 13-point triumph.
Manhattan forced 20 Rider turnovers, but only converted them into 19 points in yet another loss on the road.
