St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - Dionte Christmas scored 20 points to lead the Temple Owls to a 54-53 overtime victory over the Saint Louis Billikens in Atlantic 10 Conference play.
Lavoy Allen added eight points in the victory for Temple (8-8, 2-1 A-10).
Kevin Lisch added 17 points in the loss for Saint Louis (10-8, 1-3), which got 12 points from Tommie Liddell III.
Saint Louis led 20-18 at intermission after limiting Temple to 26.9 percent shooting from the floor in the first half.
The score was close throughout the second half, and Lisch nailed a jumper with 31 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the game at 49-49 and force overtime.
Temple scored all five of its overtime points in the first 1:04 of the extra session, and the Owls managed to hold on for victory despite behind shutout the rest of the way.
The Owls only committed 10 turnovers in the clash, while Saint Louis was guilty of 15 giveaways.
