NCAA Game Summary - Hofstra at Drexel
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Charles Jenkins tallied 21 points and pulled down seven caroms, as the Hofstra Pride downed the Drexel Dragons, 67-58, in a Colonial Athletic Association tilt at the Daskalakis Center.
Jenkins sank 7-of-13 shots from the floor and he recorded six steals, as Hofstra (4-12, 2-5 CAA) snapped a three-game slide. Dane Johnson posted 17 points and eight boards in the triumph, while Greg Johnson logged 15 points.
Frank Elegar notched a double-double with games highs of 23 points and 13 rebounds to pace Drexel (9-10, 2-5), which fell for the for the fourth time in its past five outings. Tramayne Hawthorne contributed 13 points and six assists, and Scott Rodgers chipped in with 10 points in the losing cause.
The Pride used a 15-4 run in the first half to open a 33-31 lead at the intermission.
In the second half, Hofstra shot 52.2 percent from the floor, as it posted the nine-point victory.
Hofstra's Antoine Agudio, who came into the contest averaging 24.6 ppg, was held to just six points, snapping his streak of 48 straight games in double figures.
