Muncie, IN (Sports Network) - Malik Perry dropped in 20 points and pulled down seven rebounds, as the Ball State Cardinals nipped the Eastern Michigan Eagles, 64-60, in a Mid-American Conference showdown at Worthen Arena.
Perry hit on 9-of-11 shots from the floor, as Ball State (3-13, 2-2 MAC) won for the second time in three games. Peyton Stovall turned in 12 points and recorded two steals, while Rob Giles chipped in 10 points in the victory.
For Eastern Michigan (6-10, 2-2), Carlos Medlock led the way with a game-high 21 points and four steals. Jesse Bunkley and James Matthews each posted 10 points, as the Eagles had their two-game win streak snapped.
In the first half, the Eagles made 45.8 percent of their attempts from the floor and 5-of-11 from three-point range, as they held a 31-30 edge at the break.
Ball State shot 42.9 percent from the floor and made 9-of-15 free-throw attempts in the second half to capture the four-point victory.
The Cardinals won the battle on the boards, 36-30, and that includes a 14-8 edge on the offensive glass.
