Morehead, KY (Sports Network) - Kenneth Faried posted a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds, as the Morehead State Eagles upended Ohio Valley Conference foe Samford, 62-46 at Johnson Arena.
Faried led four Eagles (7-9, 5-4 OVC) in double-figures, as Morehead State won its third straight outing. Nikola Stojakovic recorded 10 points and six assists, while Jamyron Steward and Maze Stallworth contributed 12 and 11 points, respectively.
The Bulldogs (7-10, 4-5) lost their third consecutive game despite hitting eight three-pointers. Joe Ross Merritt came off the bench to pace the Bulldogs with 12 points, and Trey Montgomery added 10 points in the loss.
Samford only netted seven field goals in the first half and trailed 30-22 at the break.
The Eagles could hardly miss in the second half, draining 72.2 percent from the field to come away with the 16-point victory.
Ball control was key in Morehead State's victory, as the Eagles only turned the ball over nine times compared to 16 miscues for the Bulldogs.
