David Kool deposited 13 points for the Broncos (8-8, 2-1 MAC), while Shawntes Gary and Andre Ricks each finished with 10.
Ball State (2-13, 1-2) was led by Peyton Stovall, who registered game-highs with 18 points and seven rebounds. Anthony Newell shot just 2-of-10 from the floor, but got to the foul line often and finished with 13 points.
The Cardinals struggled to find their shooting touch right from the opening tip, as they connected on just five field goals in the first half (25-percent shooting) and trailed, 30-19 at the break.
WMU shot 65.2 percent in the second half, while the Cardinals knocked down a pedestrian 7-of-32 attempts.
