Wilmington, NC (Sports Network) - Daniel Fountain scored 23 points to lead the UNC-Wimington Seahawks to an 81-68 win over the Towson Tigers in Colonial Athletic Association action at Trask Coliseum.
Vladimir Kuljanin chipped in with 14 points and 14 rebounds for the Seahawks (10-8, 3-3 CAA), while Chad Tomko also added 14 points in the win. Todd Hendley also got involved, tallying 13 points and six boards.
Towson (6-10, 2-4) was paced by Junior Hairston, who scored 17 points on 7- of-13 shooting from the floor. C.C. Williams and Josh Thornton each added 16 points in defeat, while Tony Durant came off the bench to score 13.
The Seahawks shot a perfect 6-of-6 from three-point range in the first half, as they took a 46-34 lead into the locker room at halftime.
UNCW kept the pressure on in the second stanza, shooting 61.9 percent from the floor en route to the 13-point victory.
The Seahawks were both selective and efficient in their outside shooting, as they knocked down 9-of-11 trifectas in the win.
