NCAA Game Summary - Wisconsin at Penn State

Final Score: Wisconsin 80 - Penn State 55

University Park, PA (Sports Network) - Michael Flowers scored a career-high 23 points with six rebounds and five assists, as 17th-ranked Wisconsin waxed Penn State, 80-55, at the Bryce Jordan Center.

Penn State (10-6, 2-2 Big Ten) lost more than its second straight conference home game, as star senior and leading scorer Geary Claxton came down with all of his weight on one leg and his knee buckled early in the first half. The injury at the 13:21 mark in the first half ended Claxton's night.

The double-double machine spent the majority of the contest in the trainer's room and finally came out on crutches late in the second 20 minutes.

Marcus Landry added 16 points and six rebounds for Wisconsin (14-2, 4-0), which won its eighth straight overall. Joe Krabbenhoft had 12 points and six rebounds.

Jamelle Cornley was the only Nittany Lion in double figures with 13 points. One of the Big Ten's best rebounding teams didn't control the backboards without Claxton, getting pounded on the glass to the tune of 41-21.

Wisconsin scored the game's first eight points before Cornley finally got the Nittany Lions on the scoreboard with 14:47 left in the first half.

After Claxton's injury, with the Badgers holding a 12-2 advantage, Wisconsin went on an 8-2 stretch to take a 20-4 lead on Greg Stiemsma's two free throws.

The Badgers led 40-24 at the half.

Penn State's David Jackson scored the second half's first five points to cut the deficit to 40-29, but the Badgers restored order by pushing the edge to 55-37 on Flowers' layup with 14:11 to play.

The Nittany Lions went over eight minutes without a field goal later in the second half, turning a 58-46 deficit after Mike Walker's three into a 77-49 game after Talor Battle's trey with 3:33 to play.

Wisconsin rolled to the rout from there.
