NCAA Game Summary - Wake Forest at Maryland
College Park, MD (Sports Network) - Greivis Vasquez poured in a game-high 22 points and dished out five assists to lead the Maryland Terrapins to a 71-64 triumph over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in an ACC tilt at the Comcast Center.
Bambale Osby scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Maryland (11-7, 1-2 ACC), and Landon Milbourne added 11 points. James Gist and Adrian Bowie each tallied 10 points to go with eight boards apiece.
Ishmael Smith led Wake Forest (11-5, 1-2) with 16 points and six assists, while James Johnson netted 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Jeff Teague added 13 points and L.D. Williams chipped in 10 in the losing effort.
Wake Forest was limited to a miserable 28.6 percent shooting effort from the floor during the first period of play, and Maryland jumped out to a 31-26 lead at the half.
The Terrapins hit 50.0 percent from the field and added 14-of-20 from the foul line during the second stanza to take the seven-point victory.
The Demon Deacons shot just 34.7 percent from the field in the loss, including a poor 5-of-30 showing from three-point range.
