Boulder, CO (Sports Network) - Cory Higgins netted 13 points and grabbed six boards, as the Colorado Buffaloes nipped the Nebraska Cornhuskers, 55-51, in Big 12 Conference play at the Coors Events Center.
Richard Roby notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds for Colorado (9-7, 1-1 Big12), which snapped a brief two-game losing streak.
Cookie Miller sank 4-of-8 three-pointers and he finished with 18 points to lead Nebraska (11-4, 0-2). Aleks Maric turned in 14 points and nine boards, as the Cornhuskers dropped their second outing in a row.
The Buffaloes made 4-of-13 attempts from long distance and 5-of-6 at the foul in the first half and that was good enough for them to carry a 25-22 lead into the break.
In the second half, Colorado shot 47.6 percent from the field, as it held on for the four-point triumph.
The Buffaloes did it with defense tonight, as they held Nebraska to a lackluster 34.0 percent shooting effort from the floor.
