NCAA Game Summary - Stanford at Oregon

Final Score: Stanford 66 - Oregon 71

Eugene, OR (Sports Network) - Maarty Leunen scored 16 points as the Oregon Ducks upended the 23rd-ranked Stanford Cardinal, 71-66, at McArthur Court.

Malik Hairston scored 15 points and pulled down seven boards for the Ducks (12-4, 3-1 Pac-10), who have won three in a row. Tajuan Porter also added 15 points for Oregon.

Brook Lopez had a game-high 26 points, including 10-for-16 shooting, for the Cardinal (13-3, 2-2), who have dropped two of their last four contests. Robin Lopez added nine points and eight rebounds.

Taj Finger's free throw, followed by a Brook Lopez jumper tied the game at 60 for Stanford with just about five minutes to go.

The teams exchanged baskets for the next few minutes, until four straight Porter points sparked an 8-0 Oregon run. His layup with 1:53 left gave the Ducks a 65-63 edge, and then he came up with a steal, but missed a jumper.

Mitch Johnson came up with the defensive rebound for the Cardinal, but after a timeout Brook Lopez was off on a jump shot, and Porter drained two free throws with 27 seconds left to extend Oregon's lead to 67-63.

Anthony Goods then turned the ball over and Bryce Taylor made two foul shots for the Ducks. Brook Lopez then missed a three-pointer and Hairston sealed the victory by sinking two foul shots with 10 seconds left.

A Goods three-pointer in the waning seconds made it a two-possession game, but it was too little too late for Stanford.

Oregon surprised Stanford early by taking a 28-20 lead after a 12-2 run, which was capped by a Frantz Dorsainvil layup with just over eight minutes remaining in the half.

Moments later, the Ducks turned that lead into a 10-point advantage via two Hairston free throws.

However, three straight Brook Lopez baskets followed that sparked a 14-5 run which brought the Cardinal within a point, 37-36, with a shade more than three minutes before intermission.

The Ducks maintained a one-point lead, 41-40, heading into the locker room.

The schools exchanged buckets for just over the first five minutes of the half, until four straight Stanford points gave the Cardinal a 53-50 lead with just under 13 minutes to go.

Two Leunen free throws and two consecutive Hairston treys bookended two Brook Lopez free throws, and gave Oregon a 58-55 edge with just over nine minutes to play.
