Pocatello, ID (Sports Network) - Deonte Huff tallied 17 points and grabbed seven caroms to lead the Portland State Vikings past the Idaho State Bengals, 71-61, in Big Sky Conference action at Holt Arena.
Scott Morrison registered a double-double with 16 points and 10 boards for Portland State (10-8, 3-2 BSC), which won for the third time in its past four outings. Alex Tiefenthaler sank 5-of-9 three-point attempts and he also finished with 16 points, while Jeremiah Dominguez had 13 points and seven assists in the winning effort.
Matt Stucki headed the charge for Idaho State (5-11, 2-1) with a game-high 26 points and eight boards. Amorrow Morgan posted 11 points and five assists, as the Bengals saw their brief two-game win streak come to a close.
Morrison and Huff scored 21 of the Vikings' first 26 points and they held a slight 32-31 lead at the break.
In the second half, Portland State converted 15-of-22 free-throw attempts, as it notched the 10-point victory.
The Vikings forced the Bengals into 19 turnovers and they generated 25 points off those miscues in the triumph.
