Lawrenceville, NJ (Sports Network) - Jason Thompson completed a double-double with game highs of 28 points and 17 rebounds, as Rider Broncs stopped the Loyola-Maryland Greyhounds, 81-67, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference battle at Alumni Gym.
Ryan Thomson, the younger brother of Jason, turned in an all-around effort for the Broncs (11-6, 4-2 MAAC), posting 16 points, seven assists and six rebounds. Harris Mansell scored 13 points and Mike Ringgold had 12 points, as Rider won its third straight contest.
Gerald Brown tallied 20 points and collected six caroms to lead Loyola-Maryland (7-10, 3-3) in the setback. Michael Tuck and Marquis Sullivan each netted 10 points, as the Greyhounds fell to 1-8 on the road.
In the first half, Rider hit on 58.6 percent of its field goal tries and it carried a 42-39 lead to the break.
The Broncs made good on 16-of-23 shots at the foul line in the second period, as they scored the 14-point triumph.
For the game, Rider shot 49.1 percent from the floor, in addition to forcing the Greyhounds into 20 turnovers.
