Kingston, RI (Sports Network) - Jimmy Baron hit the go-ahead jumper with 3.2 seconds to go as 22nd-ranked Rhode Island edged Duquesne, 80-78.

Will Daniels had a game-high 28 points and 11 rebounds for the Rams (15-2, 1-1 A-10), who bounced back from a 92-83 loss to Dayton to win for the 10th time in 11 games. Kahiem Seawright chipped in with nine points and 10 boards.

Reggie Jackson finished with 19 points for the Dukes (11-4, 1-1), who lost for the first time in six games. Kojo Mensah and Gary Tucker both finished with 14 points off the bench, while Shawn James had 12 points and seven rebounds.

The Dukes led by just one entering the final frame and things remained tight as the game headed toward the stretch.

Duquesne led by a point when Damian Saunders buried a jumper with 2:24 remaining to give the Dukes a little breathing room, 76-73.

Keith Cothran answered at the other end with a layup and, after Mensah missed a jumper, Daniels drew contact at the other end and drained a pair from the charity stripe to put the Rams ahead, 77-76, with under a minute to go.

Jackson looked like he was about to win things for the Dukes when he got loose for a driving layup with just 11 seconds left.

But, Baron had the answer, burying a jumper with just over three seconds on the clock to win it for Rhode Island.

Duquesne had one last chance but Aaron Jackson turned the ball over, securing things for the Rams.

The Dukes led by as many as eight, 19-11, in the first half when Mensah dropped in a jumper with 10:02 left.

Rhode Island chipped away from there and drew within a point, 27-26, after Daniels drained a three with 5:50 remaining until intermission.

Things remained tight from there and Duquesne took a slim 38-37 edge into the locker room.
