NCAA Game Summary - Hofstra at Virginia Commonwealth
Richmond, VA (Sports Network) - Eric Maynor scored 18 points to lead the Virginia Commonwealth Rams to a 59-49 win over the Hofstra Pride in a Colonial Athletic Association clash at the Siegel Center.
Wil Fameni and Jamal Shuler also got involved for the Rams (11-4, 4-1 CAA) scoring 10 points apiece in the win.
Hofstra (3-11, 1-4) was led by Antoine Agudio who scored 14 points on 4-of-11 shooting from the floor.
Despite shooting just 7-of-27 from the floor in the first half, VCU managed to take a 27-22 lead at the break.
The Rams found their stroke in the second stanza, shooting 48 percent from the field and 6-of-6 from the foul line, en route to a 10-point victory.
VCU played stifling defense in the win, holding Hofstra to just 38.6 percent shooting, including an 0-for-11 performance from three-point range.
