Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - Rashad Green recorded a double-double with 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds as the Manhattan Jaspers picked up a 69-65 win over the Canisius Golden Griffins in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at the Koessler Center.
Darryl Crawford came off the bench to offer up a team-best 14 points for the Jaspers (8-7, 2-3 MAAC) as they snapped a three-game slide. Devon Austin and Chris Smith both contributed 11 points to the victory as well.
The Golden Griffs (2-13, 0-5), losers of three in a row and five of the last six games, were paced by Frank Turner with a game-high 18 points, followed by Jovan Robinson and Greg Logins with 15 and 12 points, respectively.
Both teams shot the ball well from the field in the first half, converting better than 50 percent, but with Canisius hitting on a mere 2-of-11 behind the three-point line the hosts trailed by three at the break, 38-35.
In the second half the Griffs dropped down to only 35.5 percent from the floor, allowing Manhattan to capture the four-point triumph.
Although the Jaspers shot just 4-of-13 from three-point range and turned the ball over 17 times, the squad outscored Canisius at the charity stripe on the night, 17-10.
