Wilmington, NC (Sports Network) - In Colonial Athletic Association play, T.J. Carter scored 23 points and played a huge role late in the game as the UNC- Wilmington Seahawks defeated the Hofstra Pride 74-69 at the Trask Coliseum.
Carter scored seven points in the final two minutes of play to snap a three- game Seahawk (9-7, 2-2 CAA) losing streak. Todd Hendley added 18 points and nine rebounds, while Daniel Fountain contributed 13 points to the winning cause. Vladimir Kuljanin finished with 12 and seven rebounds for the victors.
Hofstra (3-10, 1-3) remains winless on the road despite the nation's fourth- leading scorer, Antoine Agudio, pouring in a game-high 29 points. Charles Jenkins extended his double-figure streak to 12 games thanks to a 17-point effort.
UNCW led 35-33 at the break behind 56.0 percent shooting from the field in the first half.
The Pride hit 45.2 percent from the field in the second frame, but Carter's exploits down the stretch were enough for the Seahawks to pull out the five- point win.
UNC-Wilmington won despite being out-rebounded by a 38-28 margin and getting only three points from their bench.
