Newark, DE (Sports Network) - Marc Egerson scored a career-high 23 points, and the Delaware Blue Hens capped a remarkable second-half comeback with a 73-68 overtime win over Colonial Athletic Association-rival George Mason.
Herb Courtney added 19 points and Alphonso Dawson scored 13 for the Blue Hens (7-7, 4-0 CAA), who take over first place in the conference standings. The win also snapped Delaware's five-game losing streak to George Mason.
Will Thomas notched his seventh double-double of the season for George Mason (10-5, 2-2), scoring 20 points and pulling down 13 rebounds. John Vaughan added 18 points, while Louis Birdsong and Folarin Campbell finished with 10 apiece.
George Mason shot an efficient 14-of-26 from the floor in the first half, as the Patriots grabbed a 33-24 halftime lead.
George Mason led by as many as 19 in the second half, but the Patriots went on to commit 13 turnovers in the frame. Delaware's Brian Johnson hit a three- pointer with 51 seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime.
Delaware shot 10-of-12 from the foul line in the extra session, as the Blue Hens won for the fifth time in their last six games.
