Carbondale, IL (Sports Network) - Matt Shaw scored 18 points, leading five players in double figures, as the Southern Illinois Salukis beat the Bradley Braves, 77-64, in Missouri Valley Conference action at SIU Arena.
Randal Falker added 14 points and seven rebounds for the Salukis (7-8, 2-2 MVC) as they snapped a two-game slide. Tyrone Green chipped in 12 points and six rebounds off the bench, while Carlton Fay and Wesley Clemmons contributed 11 points apiece.
The Braves (7-9, 0-4), losers of six in a row, were led by Andrew Warren who tallied 18 points on a perfect 12-of-12 effort at the free-throw line, followed by Sam Maniscalco and Matt Salley with 13 and 10 points, respectively.
SIU shot a blistering 66.7 percent from the field in the first half, resulting in a commanding 45-27 lead at the break.
In the second half the Salukis dipped all the way down to just 6-of-21 (.286) from the floor, but a 17-of-18 effort at the free-throw line for the squad secured the 13-point win.
The Salukis survived just 5-of-20 shooting behind the three-point line on the night by making good on all but one of their 21 chances at the charity stripe.
