Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Lester Hudson scored 27 points to lead the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks to a 75-74 win over the Tennessee State Tigers in an Ohio Valley Conference showdown at the Gentry Center.
The Skyhawks (7-9, 3-3 OVC) also received a big game from Marquis Weddle who scored 12 points, while Sam Pearson and Djero Riedewald added 10 points apiece.
Darius Cox led the way for Tennessee State (5-9, 2-3), scoring 23 points, while Jerrell Houston added 18 points in the loss. Bruce Price also got involved by scoring 16 points.
Tennessee-Martin controlled the tempo in the first half and managed to enter the break with a 37-34 lead.
The Skyhawks kept the pressure on in the second stanza, relying on tough defense to secure the one-point win.
Tennessee-Martin won for just the second time in nine true road games this season.
