Auburn, AL (Sports Network) - B.J. Raymond came off the bench to lead five players in double figures with a game-high 18 points as the Xavier Musketeers defeated the Auburn Tigers, 80-57, in non-conference play at Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum.
Also scoring in double figures for the Musketeers (11-3), winners of four straight, were Drew Lavender with 15 points, Stanley Burrell 13, Josh Duncan 12 and Derrick Brown 11 points in the victory.
The Tigers (9-3), who had their five-game win streak snapped, were paced by the trio of Frank Tolbert, Rasheem Barrett and Lucas Hargrove with 11 points apiece.
Xavier came out smoking in the first half, knocking down a staggering 65.2 percent from the field, including 10-of-16 behind the three-point line, en route to a commanding 42-25 lead at the break.
In the second half the Musketeers cooled to just 52.2 percent form the floor, but made good on 6-of-10 out on the perimeter and all eight opportunities at the free-throw line in the 23-point decision.
Leading by as many as 33 points on the day, Xavier had just four offensive rebounds and overcame 18 turnovers in the lopsided win.
