Tucson, AZ (Sports Network) - Malik Hairston tied his career high with 29 points and Bryce Taylor added 15 points, as Oregon went to Tucson and knocked off 21st-ranked Arizona for the second consecutive season, 84-74, at the McKale Center.
Maarty Leunen registered a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds and Kamyron Brown added 13 points and seven assists for the Ducks (10-4, 1-1 Pac-10), who shot a scorching 56 percent from the floor and drained 10 three-pointers.
Chase Budinger led all scorers with 30 points to go along with seven rebounds, Nic Wise added 16 points and Jordan Hill collected 12 for Arizona (10-4, 1-1), which trailed by as many as 19 points in the first half and never drew closer than five during the final 20 minutes.
Arizona couldn't outscore the hot-shooting Ducks, especially without the services of leading scorer Jerryd Bayless for the third consecutive game because of an injured right knee.
Oregon's comfortable first-half advantage was all but gone after Hill made two free throws for a 71-66 game with 6:30 to go. However, Oregon kept converting possessions into points with Tajuan Porter's jumper pushing the edge to 78-68 with 3:38 on the clock.
The Ducks staved off any late rally from there.
A three-point shooting exhibition helped stake the Ducks to a 46-27 lead on the heels of a 20-4 spurt in the first half. Churchill Odia's three started the stretch with 9:34 remaining and Oregon made three more treys during which Arizona made just one field goal.
Arizona regrouped with a 10-2 burst to close the first half with Budinger's three-point play followed by Wise's layup closing the deficit to 48-37.
