West Lafayette, IN (Sports Network) - Keaton Grant scored 17 points to lead the Purdue Boilermakers to a 65-58 win over the Michigan Wolverines in a Big Ten Conference showdown at Mackey Arena.
The Boilermakers (10-4, 1-0 Big Ten) also received 13 points and seven rebounds from Robbie Hummel.
The Wolverines (5-10, 0-2) were paced by freshman Manny Harris who scored a game-high 25 points. DeShawn Sims also got involved, scoring 15 points in the loss.
Purdue got off to a fast start, shooting 42.9 percent from the field in the first half to take a 34-20 lead at the break.
The Boilermakers pulled away in the second stanza, connecting on 12-of-14 free throw attempts en route to a seven-point win.
Three-point shooting was the difference in this contest, as Purdue outscored the Wolverines 27-12 from beyond the arc.
