Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Mike Evanovich scored 20 points to lead the Fairfield Stags to a thrilling, 69-67 victory over the Loyola-Maryland Greyhounds in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tilt at the Reitz Arena.
Evanovich nailed 6-of-8 shots from long range for Fairfield (4-9, 2-1 MAAC), while Jonathan Han tallied 13 points in the win.
Marquis Sullivan netted 16 points for Loyola-MD (5-8, 1-2), while Omari Isreal posted 15 points in the loss. Michael Tuck and Gerald Brown both contributed 12 points apiece for the Greyhounds.
The Stags shot 54.5 percent from the field and also connected on 7-of-11 attempts from long range in the first half. The strong offensive performance was the main reason for Fairfield's 35-32 lead at the intermission.
Fairfield continued to play well in the second stanza, netting 45.8 percent of its attempts from the field en route to a two-point win.
The Stags made 10-of-20 attempts from behind the arc in the contest, while the Greyhounds connected on just 6-of-22 shots from long range.
