Greenville, SC (Sports Network) - With less than two minutes left and the score tied, Jordan Miller hit a three-pointer to give Furman the lead for good, as the Paladins defeated the Western Carolina Catamounts, 64-60, in Southern Conference action at Timmons Arena.

After losing its first 11 contests of the season, Furman (2-11, 1-3 SoCon) has now rattled off back-to-back victories. Miller led the way with 14 points, while Justin Dehm and Alex Opacic chipped in with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Western Carolina (4-9, 0-3) has now lost four of its last five games despite four Catamounts scoring in double figures. Arnold Gore paced the squad with 13 points, while Jake Robinson came off the bench to add 12 points in the losing effort. Brandon Giles finished with 10 points and eight rebounds, but shot just 3-of-16 from the field, and Michael Porrini made up for eight turnovers by turning in 11 points.

Furman hit on 44.8 percent of its total shots in the opening frame and it took a 32-31 lead into intermission.

Despite making just nine field goals in the second half, the Paladins made the big shots down the stretch, including hitting 4-of-6 from the foul line in the last minute of play for the four-point win.

Western Carolina outrebounded the Paladins, 42-37, but the Catamounts turned the ball over 15 times and gave up 10 three-pointers in the loss.
