Troy, AL (Sports Network) - O'Darien Bassett poured in a contest-best 30 points, lifting the Troy Trojans past the North Texas Mean Green, 91-88, in overtime of a Sun Belt Conference affair at Trojan Arena.
Bassett knocked 5-of-12 shots from long range and he also recorded four steals for Troy (7-6, 1-2 SBC). Trayce Macon posted 14 points and eight rebounds, while Michael Vogler logged 11 points and eight assists off the bench.
For North Texas (9-4, 0-2), Josh White headed the charge with 18 points. Dez Willingham and Quincy Williams both scored 15 points in the setback, while Keith Wooden notched a double-double with 12 points and the same amount of rebounds.
In the first half, the Mean Green shot 54.8 percent from the floor and made 7- of-13 three-point tries to open a 46-39 advantage at the break.
Collin Dennis, of North Texas, sank a three-pointer with 4.2 seconds left in regulation that tied the game and forced overtime at 79-79.
In overtime, Troy converted 9-fo-10 free-throw attempts, as it earned the three-point victory.
