Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Kevin Francis netted 14 points and the Cleveland State Vikings posted a 63-55 victory over the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers in Horizon League play.
Francis knocked down 4-of-5 shots from behind the arc, as CSU (9-5, 2-0 HL) snapped an 11-game losing streak against the Ramblers. J'Nathan Bullock turned in 12 points and seven rebounds, while Cedric Jackson logged 10 points and six assists in the winning cause.
Darrin Williams led the way for Loyola-Chicago (5-8, 1-2) with a game-high 21 points and eight rebounds. J.R. Blount tallied 12 points and Andy Polka finished with 10, as the Ramblers fell to 1-5 on the road.
The Vikings held the Ramblers to a dismal 27.6 percent shooting effort from the field in the first half, opening a 24-19 advantage at the break.
In the second stanza, CSU made good on 47.8 percent of its attempts from the floor and 14-of-19 at the foul line, as it notched the eight-point win.
