Lafayette, LA (Sports Network) - David Dees played sparingly but made his minutes count, as he paced the UL-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns with 17 points in a 73-63 victory over the Arkansas State Indians in Sun Belt play at the Cajundome.
Dees came off the bench and made 6-of-7 shots from the floor, including 3-of-4 from long range, as the Cajuns (6-7, 3-0 SBC) have now won six of their last seven games. Elijah Millsap finished with 16 points and a game-high eight rebounds, while Randell Daigle chipped in with 14 points.
The Indians (6-7, 1-2) were also led off the bench by Adrian Banks' 20 points. Ryan Wedel tallied 15 points, and Yima Chia-Kur contributed 13 points in the loss.
ASU led by as many as 11 points midway through the first half, but ULL hung tough and made 42.4 percent from the field to take a 36-32 lead at halftime.
Both teams shot well in the second half, but it was the Cajuns' six three- pointers that made the difference in the 10-point victory.
ULL's tenacity was evident throughout the game, as it forced 19 turnovers and grabbed 15 offensive rebounds.
