Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Frank Elegar poured in a game-high 21 points to go with 11 rebounds as the Drexel Dragons defeated the UNC- Wilmington Seahawks, 70-60, in a Colonial Athletic Association tilt at the Daskalakis Center.
Scott Rodgers netted 13 points in the Drexel (8-6, 1-1 CAA) victory, and Randy Oveneke crashed the boards for a game-high nine rebounds.
T.J. Carter scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead UNC-Wilmington (8-6, 1-1), and Daniel Fountain added 16 points. Vladimir Kuljanin chipped in 10 points to go with seven rebounds in the losing effort.
UNC-Wilmington hit 51.7 percent of its attempts from the field in the first half while limiting Drexel to a mere 33.3 percent to take a 34-25 lead into the break.
The Dragons battled back during the second stanza, converting 21-of-30 from the charity stripe and holding the Seahawks to a mere 31.0 percent from the field en route to the 10-point victory.
The Seahawks were guilty of 18 turnovers in the loss, resulting directly in 22 Drexel points.
