Williamsburg, VA (Sports Network) - The duo of Marc Egerson and Alphonso Dawson scored 15 points each, as the Delaware Blue Hens defeated the William & Mary Tribe, 58-51, in Colonial Athletic Association action at Kaplan Arena.
Egerson grabbed a game-high nine rebounds in the Delaware (5-7, 2-0 CAA) victory, and Brian Johnson chipped in nine points.
Peter Stein poured in a game-high 23 points to lead William & Mary (4-8, 0-2). Nathan Mann added 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting.
The Blue Hens held William & Mary to 31.8-percent shooting from the floor in the first half, as Delaware took a slim 24-23 lead into the intermission.
Delaware used free throws to its advantage during the second stanza, converting 14-of-16 from the charity stripe to earn the seven-point victory.
William & Mary shot a mere 31.5 percent from the field in the loss, including 4-for-19 shooting from three-point range.
