Starkville, MS (Sports Network) - Charles Rhodes scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Mississippi State Bulldogs to a 78-61 win over the Murray State Racers in non-conference play from Humphrey Coliseum
Jamont Gordon also had a big day for the Bulldogs (4-3), scoring 15 points, while Barry Stewart checked in with 14 points in the win.
The Racers (3-2) were paced by Tony Easley who scored 17 points in a losing effort. Danero Thomas and Ray George also got involved, scoring 14 and 11 points respectively.
Mississippi State shot 57.7 percent from the field in the first half to take a 39-24 lead at the break.
The Bulldogs kept the pressure on in the second stanza, shooting 13-of-28 from the floor en route to a 17-point win.
With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 28-1 in the month of December under coach Rick Stanbury.
