Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Pierre Curtis posted 19 points, nine rebounds and five assists to lead the James Madison Dukes to 68-65 victory over the Northeastern Huskies in Colonial Athletic Association action.
Terrance Carter tallied 12 points and Abdulai Jalloh added 11 points for James Madison (5-1, 1-0 CAA).
Matt Smith and Chris Alvarez had 12 points apiece for Northeastern (2-4, 0-1), which also got 11 points from Manny Adako.
Northeastern shot 53.8 percent from the floor in the first half and limited James Madison to 34.2 percent shooting en route to a 36-32 lead at intermission.
The Dukes only improved to 38.9 percent shooting from the field in the second half, but they earned the narrow victory by holding the Huskies to 36 percent shooting over the final 20 minutes.
A key to the win for James Madison was that it forced 19 turnovers in the clash.
