Fairfield (3-8) at William & Mary (3-7)

GAME NOTES: In a non-conference matchup, the William & Mary Tribe will host the Fairfield Stags this afternoon at Kaplan Arena. The Stags snapped a six- game losing skid with a thrilling, 89-78 overtime victory over Saint Peter's this past Friday. It was just the third win of the year for Fairfield, which also defeated American University and Sacred Heart earlier in the year. It does not get any easier for the Stags, as they will be on the road for four of their next five games. As for the Tribe, they have lost four of their last six games, including a tough, 70-63 loss to Hampton this past Saturday. William & Mary is just 3-7 on the season, but at home the team is 2-1, with the two victories coming against Montreat and Houston Baptist. In terms of the all- time series between the two schools, the Stags have won both prior meetings.

The last time Fairfield was on the court the team exploded for 89 points, thanks in large part to a 52.2 percent shooting effort from the field. It was a surprising performance for Fairfield, which comes into this matchup netting just 64.4 ppg, while shooting 41.3 percent from the field. In the 11-point overtime victory over Saint Peter's, the Stags were led by Jonathan Han, who scored 24 points to go along with nine assists. Anthony Johnson tallied 14 points and grabbed 12 boards, while Herbie Allen, Marty O'Sullivan and Warren Edney each chipped in 11 points. Han has been the main option for Fairfield, as the guard is netting 12.5 ppg, while also leading the squad with 63 assists. However, he is the only player currently averaging double figures for the Stags.

The Tribe have also had trouble offensively this season, which is why the team is just 3-7. After 10 games, the team is netting 66.2 ppg, while shooting just 42.1 percent from the floor. David Schneider and Laimis Kisielius have been the only two consistent scoring options for William & Mary. Schneider is averaging 12.9 ppg and is also grabbing 5.2 rpg, while Kisielius is posting 11.1 ppg. The offensive woes for William & Mary continued the last time the team took the court, as the squad posted a dismal 36.9 percent shooting effort in a seven-point loss to Hampton. William & Mary was just 3-of-20 from long range, and had trouble from the foul line as well, netting just 12-of-22 attempts. Schneider and Danny Summer led the way with 14 points apiece, while Kisielius contributed 13 points.

Do not expect to see a high scoring affair between these two teams, as both WIlliam & Mary and Fairfield lack playmakers. However, give the slight edge to the Tribe on their home floor.
