(11) Georgetown (23-4) at (21) Marquette (21-6)

GAME NOTES: Top-25 foes meet in Big East action at the Bradley Center this afternoon, as the 11th-ranked Georgetown Hoyas meet up with the 21st-ranked Marquette Golden Eagles. Georgetown has won three straight games to move to 13-3 in Big East play, good for a first-place tie with Louisville. The team was last in action on Wednesday, when it posted a 64-52 win over St. John's. Marquette is 11-5 in-conference, thanks to its current five-game win streak. The team is in fifth place in the league. The Golden Eagles haven't lost since February 9th at Notre Dame, and most recently came off a strong 85-75 road win at Villanova. Georgetown holds a narrow 3-2 edge in the all-time series with Marquette, thanks to a 76-58 victory last season.

DaJuan Summers and Roy Hibbert provided the majority of the offense, as Georgetown was able to continue its winning ways with a 12-point decision against St. John's. Summers was 7-of-15 from the floor and hit five three- pointers to finish with a game-high 21 points. Hibbert poured in 17 points, thanks in large part to a 7-of-8 showing from the charity stripe. The Hoyas aren't the type of team that will blow opponents away with gaudy offensive numbers. However, the team uses tremendous effort at the defensive end and takes advantage of opponents' mistakes. Georgetown is certainly one of the top defensive teams in the nation, holding foes to a mere 57.1 ppg (fourth nationally), on an anemic .363 shooting (first nationally). Hibbert hasn't played up to lofty expectations this season, but he is still one of the top pivots in the entire country, shooting .604 from the floor and pacing the team in scoring (13.4 ppg), rebounding (6.4 rpg) and blocked shots (63). Summers (11.5 ppg, 5.3 rpg) provides support in the frontcourt, while guard Jonathan Wallace (10.0 ppg, 54 three-pointers) represents the team's top perimeter threat.

Dominic James had a terrific game this week against Villanova, finishing with 25 points, three rebounds, four assists and six steals. Lazar Hayward just missed a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds, while Jerel McNeal and Maurice Acker chipped in with 14 and 12 points, respectively. A dangerous offensive team, Marquette certainly has the ability to get up early on teams and cruise to victory. The Golden Eagles are shooting a steady .459 from the field this season, leading to a healthy 77.0 ppg. The scoring burden is spread out, with four of the five starters averaging double figures. James leads the way with 13.6 ppg, but is followed closely by Hayward and McNeal, who net 13.4 ppg each. Wesley Matthews round out the offensive weapons with 10.9 ppg.

The Hoyas will attempt to slow things down, but the Golden Eagles have played extremely well at home this season (14-1) and will thrive on the hometown atmosphere, en route to the mild upset.
